Welcome to Ms Griffin’s Autism Class
Ms Griffin’s classroom is a warm, welcoming, and supportive space where every child is encouraged to learn, grow, and shine in their own unique way. We celebrate individuality and focus on building confidence, independence, and a love of learning in a calm and structured environment.
In our class, we value clear routines, positive relationships, and engaging activities that support each pupil’s strengths and interests. We use a variety of teaching approaches, including visual supports, hands-on learning, and interactive experiences, to help all children access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
Communication, social development, and life skills are an important part of our day, alongside literacy, numeracy, and creative activities. We work closely with families and support staff to ensure every child feels safe, understood, and included.
Ms Griffin’s class is a place where achievements—big and small—are celebrated, friendships are nurtured, and every child is supported to succeed.
Faha National School & Autism Friendly Killarney ♾️🌈
We are incredibly proud that Faha National School is now part of Autism Friendly Killarney.
Over the past two years, through the AsIAm Autism Friendly Schools Project, we have been on an incredible journey of learning, understanding and positive change. We are now eagerly awaiting Year 3 and look forward to continuing to build on everything we have achieved.
We are proud of the physical changes within our school from our Autism Class and Sensory Room, to our Peaceful Place and improved Movement Group equipment. But, for us, the greatest changes are those that cannot always be seen.
We have developed a greater understanding of autism, communication, sensory needs and inclusion. We have created a school atmosphere where differences are celebrated, children are listened to and every child is supported to feel that they truly belong.
We are incredibly proud of how our whole school community has embraced this journey.
A huge thank you to Autism Friendly Killarney for welcoming us and AsIAm for the support, guidance, learning and encouragement they have given us. Their work is helping schools and communities understand that being autism friendly is not simply about making changes, it is about creating acceptance, understanding and belonging.
We are proud of how far we have come, excited about where we are going, and delighted to be part of the Autism Friendly Killarney community.

September in Ms Griffin's Class 🌈♾️
We had a lovely start to the school year in Ms Griffin’s Class! Throughout September, our theme was “All About Me and Belonging”, and we spent lots of time getting to know ourselves and one another. We explored what makes each of us different and unique, before learning about our families and homes, our school and our friends. Through stories, art, discussion and lots of hands-on activities, the children shared their interests, learned more about their classmates and celebrated all the things that make our class special. Our September displays remind us that our homes, families, friends and interests may all be different, but together we are one class!
