Situated in the Parish of Milltown/Listry, our school is 6.5km from Milltown on the Milltown/Killarney road. Listry is a vibrant community of around 500 households situated in the centre of a triangle linking Killarney with Milltown and Killorglin. Faha N.S. is a growing co-educational school with 222 students and 19 staff. Our school building is modern and spacious. We have 8 mainstream classrooms fitted out to the highest standards as well as 4 Learning Support/ Resource rooms. In addition we have a G.P. hall, a library and a First Aid room. Our extensive grounds include gardens, purpose built playgrounds, a fairy trail and a floodlit astroturf all weather pitch.
We are always ready to welcome new enrolments. If you have a child starting Junior Infants or if you are thinking of a change of school why not consider Faha N.S. We would be delighted to chat over the phone or by email if you need more information! Enrolment Application Forms are available to print - you will find them under the 'policies & downloads' section of the website. Alternatively please contact the school directly and we will be happy to help.
Focus on: February!
Spring is starting to make its self known as we move through February. The mornings are brighter and while its still cold out, a few brave daffodils are blooming around the school garden. It's a lovely sign of warmer days ahead.
As usual, Faha NS is a hive of activity. The sports teams are busy preparing for upcoming events ranging from basketball games to cross country running and Mini Sevens. The children of 2nd & 6th class are getting ready to receive their sacraments. Individual classes all have interesting things going on - check out our class pages to find out more.
Applications are rolling in for for next year - forms are available from the office or are available to download.
There was plenty noise (well, more than usual!) at Faha N.S. recently when 2 rally cars came to visit. The cars were kindly brought by Killarney Historic Rally which will be taking place locally in early December. The rally officials also gave the children a talk on road safety during their time at the school. The boys & girls were delighted to get up close to these incredible cars - a VIP moment for sure!
Move Better Feel Better
We are delighted to have this exciting fitness programme running in Faha NS this year. Fitness coach Dan from DanKBFitness visits every Thursday to work with all pupils on a movement & fitness programme. The whole school takes part and classes are tailored to the abilities of each age group. So far this programme has been a great success and the children are really enjoying it! We hope to see everyone reaping the health & wellness benefits as the year progresses. Watch out for photos & videos coming soon!
Family Fun Day
We had an action - packed day at school last Friday with our family fun day! The weather was kind, the sun was shining and everyone had a great time. The children got to take part in lots of different activities like 3 legged race, obstacle course, spud & spoon race and ball relay. The children's families were able to visit and there were parents races & teacher races for the grown ups! A great day was had by all.
September has crept up on us and suddenly the summer holidays are over and it's time for school. We hope everyone had a lovely break and we are delighted to welcome all the boys & girls back to us. There are 23 new Junior Infants as well as new faces in some older classes, no doubt they will all be a wonderful addition to the Faha NS community. We would like to wish all the staff and pupils of Faha NS a fun filled and enjoyable year 2023 - 2024
Faha NS has done it again! Continuing on with our strong sporting tradition, our boys team was victorious in the FAI Spar 5 a side soccer held yesterday at Mounthawk Park, Tralee. Next up are the Munster Finals to be held in Tipperary! Well done also to the girls team who fought a brave battle but were unfortunately beaten.
