Creative Schools is an Arts Council-led initiative of the Creative Ireland programme, in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and the Department of Education and Skills. This initiative aims to put arts and creativity at the heart of children and young people’s lives by developing arts and creativity in schools. Our school was one of 150 schools chosen from approximately 400 applications to take part in the Creative Schools pilot project and one of five schools chosen in Kerry in 2018. This year we are taking part in the Creative Schools Initiative for the second year. Our creative associate is Jane Hayes.
Our Creative Schools Committee have been working very hard this year. There is beautiful artwork on display throughout the school. In early December the school hosted a movie night where a variety of movies were on offer to suit all tastes. It was a very well attended event and a great success!
