Health Promoting School

At Faha National School, we are proud to be a Health Promoting School, committed to supporting the physical, emotional, social, and mental wellbeing of all our pupils and staff.

Being a Health Promoting School means that we take a whole-school approach to health and wellbeing. We believe that a happy, healthy child is more ready to learn, grow, and reach their full potential — both inside and outside the classroom.

Our health promotion work focuses on areas such as:

  • Healthy eating and nutrition

  • Physical activity and movement

  • Positive mental health and wellbeing

  • A safe, inclusive, and respectful school environment

  • Partnership with parents and the wider community

Through school-wide initiatives, classroom lessons, wellbeing weeks, and active participation by pupils, staff, and families, we aim to create a school culture that values and supports health in every way.

We are guided by the Health Promoting Schools framework, supported by the HSE and the Department of Education, and we continuously strive to improve our practices to benefit the whole school community.
