Junior Infants

Welcome to Junior Infants – the very beginning of your child’s exciting journey through primary school! This year is all about settling in, making new friends, and exploring the world of learning in a happy and safe environment. In Junior Infants, children engage in play-based activities that help develop their language, early literacy, numeracy, and social skills.

Our classroom is a nurturing and friendly space where each child is supported with kindness and patience as they take their first steps in school life. We encourage curiosity, creativity, and confidence through fun, hands-on learning experiences. We understand how important this first year is for your child, and we are committed to making it positive, enjoyable, and full of memorable moments.

The Junior Infants teacher is Ms. Wrenn. This year we have 24 boys & girls in the class. Some already have big brothers & sisters in the school and others are from new families. We look forward to a fantastic year ahead in Junior Infants!

Our Junior Infants have been busy creating some wonderful artwork, and the results are full of colour, creativity, and imagination! Using a range of materials and techniques, the children explored shapes, patterns, and textures while developing their fine motor skills and confidence in expressing themselves.

Each piece is unique and reflects the joy and enthusiasm our youngest learners bring to the classroom every day. We are so proud of their hard work and love seeing their creativity displayed around the school. Well done, Junior Infants! 🎨✨

New Year 🎉🎇

Junior Infants welcomed the New Year with a fun and creative art activity. The children explored colours and shapes as they created bright and cheerful artwork, celebrating fresh beginnings and the excitement of the year ahead. Their work reflects great effort, imagination, and enjoyment.

Christmas 🎄🎅

Great fun was had by all at our annual Christmas Seisiún, with the Junior Infants putting on a truly delightful performance. The children sang festive songs and shared plenty of smiles as they showcased all they have been learning. The hall was filled with Christmas cheer, laughter, and a wonderful sense of excitement as proud families looked on. Well done to our Junior Infants for their enthusiasm and confidence, and a big thank you to the staff who helped make the morning so special. A lovely way to celebrate the festive season together! 🎄✨

Christmas Art 🎨🎄

Our Junior Infants have been busy getting into the Christmas spirit with a beautiful collection of festive artwork. The classroom has been buzzing with excitement as the children explored seasonal colours, sparkles, and winter themes in their very first Christmas art activities at school.

These festive projects also gave our youngest learners the chance to practise important early skills — cutting, sticking, mark-making, and experimenting with shapes and textures — all while having great fun.

Their completed creations are now brightening our corridors and adding wonderful Christmas cheer to the school. We are so proud of the Junior Infants and the magic they have brought to this special season. Well done, boys and girls!
